Bettany Hughes was born in 1968 in Oxford. She studied at the University of Oxford, where she received a second class degree in Classical History. Hughes has wrote several novels, her most famous being Helen of Troy, which has been translated into ten different languages. Hughes has presented different documentaries, from Britain's Secret Treasures, to the Seven Ages of Britain.
